      Hi Michael,
This seems to be a known issue and is unfortunately another in the long line of problematic management packs. I think MS needs to step up QA.

Are you able to remove the MP and revert to the previous version?

Sorry for the late reply. I was just posting this bug everywhere to stop others updating and getting stung. I wasn’t sure the best way to get the word out and just spammed everyone.

I normally do a quick search to see if anyone is having issues before looking to update. Sadly nothing showed up in my searches. I like other put it in Dev. Everything looked OK and then Bam! updated the MP and DW logs went nuts.

I was looking at removing the MP but I made the mistake of creating one of the new Dashboards in the root of the console and not in a folder stored in my dashboards MP. This left the default MP as a dependency, that and all the run as profiles. I was going to go through the process of surgically removing the MP but decided to push the logs volume out and see if it would sort its self out. I only added the SQL2014 MP for some testing with our DBA and didn’t touch the 2005/2008/2012. So at this stage I’m not doing much until the new MP is out and well tested.

MS really need to just increment the older stable versions to give people an out when this happens. My change control Rollback just makes me shutter every time I update the MP

        Bleeding edge hurts.

        Thanks,

        Mike

Is anyone experiencing weird behaviour when you use the new DataCenter Dashboard? For example, some group tiles incorrectly display the objects in the groups as ‘Unavailable’ or ‘Not Monitored’ even though the groups are properly populated and when you display the members via the traditional method they all are listed as healthy. One example I have is a group I’ve populated with 15 Windows Service monitors I created, the Windows Service Monitors are working as expected and appear in the Windows Computer’s Health Explorer view as healthy, however when I add the group to the dashboard view they are all listed as unmonitored! Very frustrating!!

I have a similar issue with groups containing logical drives.

    Anyone else come across this?

      Hi Davy,
Something to bear in mind is that there are actually 2 kinds of groups, you can see them if you look at the group icons in the console. The empty tray is an instance group and the other one is a computer group. I find that only computer groups roll up status to the group level where they will appear correctly in the dashboard view. It’s the same if you check them under discovered inventory.
